Shot photos for DAM SF's 5 year anniversary. Capturing moments of the performances and artists. The event was lit! Filled with dope talent from around the Bay Area/Northern California.
Concrete Runners Season 3 Opener
I was invited to my friends running group, Concrete Runners, season 3 opener, where a group of like minded individuals gathered to meet the new and familiar faces. All coming together sharing a passion of health, fitness, setting goals, and overcoming them; helping to push one another to surpass their goals. Some of them have traveled together to run in different cities, spreading and sharing their passion. Some of them have even ran along side celebrities like Manny Pacquiao and Kevin Hart. Based out of the Bay Area, these are the Concrete Runners!
Agenda - Las, Vegas Recap
I got the opportunity to experience Agenda, and what an experience to see the different styles of streetwear and fashion from around the world. So many brands and so many styles. From tees, to hats, to jeans, to kicks, to jewelry, to socks and underwear. There were many familiar brands and many unfamiliar brands. To be in a room of various creatives was a dope vibe. My highlights were meeting John Starks (NBA Legend), seeing Van Styles (wish I had conversed with him about photography), and seeing my recent favorite brand of kicks, Losers, which is hard to find because they don't have many retailers here in the US. Looking forward to hopefully experiencing the other Agenda events in the future.
Coach ED
I had the opportunity and privilege of working with my brother Edwin aka Coach Ed aka B-boy Blakk. He noticed my work with photography and asked if I would shoot him for his up coming website, which he says was inspired from me creating my own site. To me it's crazy because I've always looked up to him and been inspired & motivated by him, to inspire him from me doing what I love is a trip! And we got some dope work in for his site! I can't wait for him to launch it and make BIG (BEE EYE GEE) things happen! I remember in high school he had to make a choice between Dance and Wrestling, back then he chose dance, but his passion for wrestling remained. And today he utilizes both in his training and fitness. You can find him on instagram @coachedj also on twitter @CoachEdJ
Amidst my drive home
On my way home the other night, it was foggy and all I saw was things I could capture.
2015 Year in Review
This has been my first full year shooting photos, starting with (and still using) my father's 35mm film camera. Also shooting digital with a Sony A6000. I've gotten a lot of positive feedback from many people throughout the year, as well as amazing support from many friends and family in pursuing photography as more than a hobby. There's still a lot that I want and need to learn, but I'm ready to take that next step in photography. Looking forward to building and creating with other photographers, artists, models, clothing lines, and events companies in 2016.
Creative juices are flowing, only thing to do is to manifest these ideas! Cheers to the new year!
